History of the Hotel Schweizerhof Wetzikon

The history of the Schweizerhof began as early as 1863, when it was entered in the Wetzikon land register by Heinrich Dietliker.

At the beginning, Mr. Dietliker only ran a dance hall without a restaurant or hotel. Later, in 1880, the restaurant was added to the hotel (Wetzikon, 2015).

In 1882, the restaurant received murals depicting a Bavarian beer hall, which were preserved until the Schweizerhof was converted in 2020.

Various families have run the business since it was founded. Currently, the hotel has been under the management of the Nuredini family since 2006.

The picture below shows the building of the Hotel Schweizerhof from 1963. This exterior image has not changed significantly since then,

which can be seen as a characteristic of the Hotel Schweizerhof.

Renovation in 2021

The Hotel Schweizerhof has been built and maintained with a lot of love for detail. The hotel was completely renovated in 2021,

resulting in 4 additional rooms.

Value was placed on regional suppliers during the conversion.

Our check-in machine is a Swiss Made product from Onstay AG from Effretikon. We got in touch with Onstay and together, with creative

ideas and interdisciplinary expertise, we developed a solution that was tailored to the IT infrastructure of our hotel. From now on,

the Swiss Made Terminal is the perfect addition to our hotel service. Our guests can check-in at any time of the day or night,

leaving our staff more time to provide personal service to guests.

The interior design was planned and implemented with a great deal of sensitivity and love by Bea Lengacher from Lewy Art GmbH in Wetzikon.
